Just a little update...

...On what I've been upto... I've actually been crafting again :oD yippeeee!!! It's so good to be making and creating again :o) One thing I've made is pictured below and was for my Dad's birthday present...

I originally wanted to paint the frame brown but I discovered it was plastic and not wood... And I couldn't find my sandpaper - not surprising considering the state of my craft room!! Check out one of my latest videos on Youtube (Wentworthsgal) as I show some of that mess! So instead of painting it I decided to try the old stamping on masking tape technique. Naturally I would have LOVED to have been able to use Tim Holtz's tissue tape but that is soooo expensive here in the UK so I decided to make my own :oD took a bit of playing and I the only ink that I tried that seemed to stick onto the tape was Stazon ink. I had wanted to use brown but I only have black so I used that lol. I tried tinting the tape with Vintage Photo Distress ink and heat setting it slightly then rubbing off any excess with a flannel. Didn't turn out so bad and I was happy with it :o) I inked the edges of Ayse's photo to add to the ye olde feel of it. I think the other techniques used I mention on my youtube video so check it out if you like :o)

I was hoping to catch Rachel's Ustream tomorrow (RachO113 or Rach0113) but I'm going out for lunch with a good friend of mine - she's treating me to lunch as a birthday treat :o) we're gunna have a Chinese buffet so it's all you can eat :oD I'm gunna be stuffed!! I'm hoping to be back by 6 for her start time but we might go for a drink or 2 after so who knows lol! I'm hoping to get her round for some crafting soon too!! Introduce her to 'the bug' :o) fingers crossed she'll get hooked! Lol :o) I love to impart some crafty addiction hehe :o)

A big shout out to all the UK craft youtubers :o) I love you all!! I'm coming across more and more it seems which is great :oD I doubt we'll overtake the Americans lol but it's good to have more and more videos to watch from this side of the pond :oD especially raks :o) hehe.

My poorly ear :o(

After getting an earring back sucked out of my ear canal I now have a sore ear :o( I had no pain whilst it was inside - just a crunchy sound when I yawned or squeezed my eyes shut. The ENT doc decided to damage the lining and made it bleed - sob sob. But... Earing back was out - eventually!! This was a week ago... Now, my ear has swollen up inside and has been very painful this weekend :o( and today it started weeping... It lessened the swelling but still hurts. Going to the docs first thing - see if I can get an appointment or something. I phoned up today to use their automated booing system but their first slot wasn't until the 10th March!!! I can't wait that long - my ear could get worse!

This sucks :o( I don't recall ever having problems with my ears before now.

Oh well, painkiller and sleep now I guess... It is gone 2am afterall!!

Errr... Hello?

Ok I should probably start by apologising for not blogging for about 2 months... Sorry! Things just seem to have changed lately. I'm not Youtubing like I used to. I used to watch my craft videos every day without fail! I've not crafted for ages. I've even gone back to buying gifts this year :o( Perhaps I should just watch one video from Arlene and Bona and I'll get back on track... Who knows.

I am reading more tho which is good - I'm currently reading The Morganville Vampires Series which I'm enjoying. Ooh the next series of Vampire Diaries starts tomorrow in the UK!!!! YEYYY!!! True Blood has started back up too :oD Oh how I love the Vampire saturated months. Gunna be boring again once they stop :o( ah well...

I've taken up modeling again too... Had about 4 shoots since December and having a great time! Not doing too well with dieting and exercising to get rid of the belly tho hehe!! I'm just too lazy and love food!! But hey, I'm honest... :o) It's a good trait to have lol. Ta Daaaa! As if by magic, I appear...

Well, it has been a long time. Sooo sorry for being awol all this time. I have no excuse, I'm just a very very bad person... Ok, well I'm not really bad, just not very good at keeping up with stuff and stuff.



I am however on Twitter so if you wanna follow me - wentworthsgal - ofcourse :-p and I'll probably be using that more than this or Youtube, purely because I can tweet from my mobile with text messages. So simple!! Just my cuppa tea :oD


Anyway - some crafty goodness in the form of some photos :o) just what the doctor ordered :o)
Both of these I made for birthday presents for my cousins. I do have 2 more to show but have yet to take photos of... Naturally none of them were handed in on time - actually tell a lie - the S was handed in on the day of his party so that was pretty good :o) I'm making a new years resolution to be more organised next year!!! I really wanna get into the right headspace and make next year work for me. Do the crafting stuff I wanna do. I have a craft fair lined up mid year which will be good, and I wanna get some more planned too... Wish me luck!!

Organisation, organisation, organisation!! That's gunna be my new mantra. Altho I spose I should really be adding housework, housework, housework too - but baby steps! First things first!! :o)

Been a while...

...Since I last posted a blog entry so I do apologise...

Well, last night I made JAM!!! Yep my Mum, Mike and myself picked some blackberries from around the corner of our house and I made some jam :oD I used Lyndsey's recipe over here

Had some on my toast this morning and even though I wasn't too keen on the taste, it turned out really well :oD I will however buy a sieve for next time and sieve out the pips lol!! Mike tasted some and decided that even for him it was a bit sweet!!! And believe me, that IS saying something!!! So I shall reduce the amount of sugar next time, see how it turns out. Really looking forward to next year when the strawberries come out again - gunna go pick our own and make some strawberry jam :oD I'm really loving this jam making lol!! Got some plums from my Mum's garden this weekend - she has tonnes on her tree!! I might even make a small pot of jam from a few of them too... :oD who knows :oD I'm feeling the need to make pies and crumbles now too lol!!! So much for trying to *lose* weight!!! Hehe, oh well...



Went to a couple of bootfairs with my Mum too - bought quite a lot :-s oops!! But mostly things to alter and use in my crafting :o) ooh I found some cheap pearl bling too!! Obviously I had to get one of each colour hehe :oD They were from The Works in Folkestone and only £1 so if you're near one of their shops, check them out!!! Also they had some vampire books which I had to get 3 of (3 for £5) unfortunately they didn't have number 1 in the series so I got 2,3, 4 and have instructed my Mum to look out for the others for me lol!! I have plenty to read at the moment anyway lol. Oooh bargain of the century!!! I got a tube of Emerald Green Rub N Buff for 10p!!!!! TEN P!!!!! Can you believe it?!!?!?! Have never tried it before so I was like ooooh yes gimme gimme gimme!! Unfortunately it was the only one in the box so... Otherwise I would have bought them all and shared with my lovely youtube friends :oD

Anyway, I'm off to record my haul goodies from the bootfairs etc...

Another Sleepy Day

Yep I wondered if it would happen and it did lol, spent most of yesterday asleep!! Well, I think it was yesterday, I'm getting confused in my old age lol :-p Ok, so I'm only 29 but hey occasionally I do feel old lol!!

Not much happening on the craft front and none on the craft room sorting front either. Hopefully I'll be a bit more exciting tomoro!!

Just a little note...

...Coz I'm really tired. Been running around doing all sorts for the last couple of days. Scrubby's possibly had food poisoning and maybe a touch of the flu so I've been doing more around the house which has totally made my body wonder what's going on lol!! I'm hoping to hold out until he's better so that my body can collapse in a tired heap of achy muscles and sleepy sighs and then he can look after me lol :oD

Bought some more storage for the craft room so I'm hopefully gunna do some more to there to sort it all out - STILL!! I'll probably have a nap at some point to catch up on missed sleep and hopefully it won;t be a sleepy day like the other sunday! Not good!! Too much to do, so little time to sleep lol!!

Found some great bargains today craft wise so some are for me and some for my 1 year youtube anniversary lol :oD yeyy!!! Can;t believe I posted my first video almost a year ago!! As it was a tour of my messy craft room, I'm gunna do another tour of this room, one year on - hopefully it won;t be AS messy as before lol!!!

My New Etsy Store!!!

Woo hoo!!! Yep I now have an Etsy store to add alongside my Folksy store :o) I've only put one item up so far...

Here they are... 10 recycled envelopes from an old catalogue :o) it all started when I tore the front page off so I could cut out the flowers, then I had to wrap a guys present up and had no wrapping paper - so I thought a page of bras would be gratefully received as the wrapping lol (and it was lol). Couldn't bring myself to throw the rest away so I've been making envelopes with the pages instead :o) I'm gunna get some sticky labels and decorate them so they can be used as envelope seals and address labels to make the use of them more easy and more practical.

Not done much other than this, did a crochet round 'flower' this morning but still in the practicing stage lol! Really looking forward to getting some more stuff up on my Etsy : http://www.etsy.com/shop/StormCrafts and my Folksy too: http://www.folksy.com/shops/StormCrafts

The Accidental Flower

Well, the other day's plans didn;t quite happen as I had hoped - spent most of the morning asleep and had a really tired day instead. Since then tho, I think I have done a bit of tidying up and the craft room is sloooowly getting there. I did do a bit of crafting tho :o) I tried my hand at crocheting some flowers - didn;t quite work out very well (I shall take pics when I've found them again lol) so I decided to have a go at doing some simple circles/rounds instead. First attempt not so good as you can see below... But 2nd much better!!

Next are my "accidental flowers" I was doing rounds but didn't really know what I was doing in regards to increasing or decreasing etc so the edges became too long and went all wiggley :o) pretty cute tho - might put a button in the centres or something to funk it up a bit more :o) I feel I must apologise for the bright neon colours (even worse in real life lol!) my daughter decided to throw out her wool - and how could I possibly let that happen?! So... I rescued it all :o) ..... only to find that in her wisdom of a few years ago so much younger... she'd chopped it all up!! I had fun sorting it all out and putting into separate bags tho :o) and even found a few of substantial length too :o) Hope you like them :o)

Well...

Not really much to report on... Bought a few little bits which I might do a collective haul vid on. Been sorting out the house still - should be doing more on the bedroom but keep getting sidetracked by doing the craftroom instead!! Oopsy!! But tomoro I plan on doing 1 hour downstairs, 1 in the bedroom and then 1 in the craftroom too :o) hopefully make some stuff before I pick littley up from school.

Waaay past my bedtime and battery's bout to fall asleep too.
I shall say gdnight to you all and we shall both go and recharge our batteries to play some more tomoro...

End Of An Era - New Chapter Beginning

Yep the day finally came... Yesterday was my final exam and the final day of college!! I'm so pleased I survived another year lol. Fingers are now crossed for good results - I did however find the last two papers pretty tricky, so I'm hoping the whole country agrees with me so they might lower the grade boundaries lol :o) well I can dream, no?

So today I have been really lazy - due to being really tired... Me and Scrubby were up til 1am moving pieces of paper without touching them and trying not to create a draft lol. Crazy it may sound but it was a lot of fun :o)

Operation Martha Stewart is gunna be initiated soon - hopefully tomoro I'll be up to it. Sorting out this house, it's so not tidy or organised so I'm hoping to have the energy to do that. Lounge first, bedroom 2nd then craftroom!! Maybe the kitchen in the middle somewhere too. I can't wait to get into that craftroom again and get creating!! It's been too long (and way too messy!!) but now I have nothing to distract me from doing it - other than family - so I have no excuse :o)

I really want to have a somewhat minimalistic look to this place but it's hard when you have naff all storage and too much stuff. I know I should get rid of stuff but crafters are notorious for being hoarders so it's quite tough to do so. Especially as I'm sure I will "need" everything one day!

Anyhoo, sleep is waving its magic wand over me again so I'm gunna stop typing before I start rambling and not making any sense lol.

Just a little update...

Hi guys,


Well, where to begin? Ok, Friday I had my final biology exam :o) yippeeee!! The end is in sight now lol, only 2 more exams to go - environmental studies - and then I'm well and truely finished with college :o) well unless I figure out what I want to do with my life and find out that more studying and qualifications are involved...!! So, the exam was really REALLY hard and it was only a GCSE - I feel so sorry for all the teenagers taking it at the same time as me - I'm an adult and found it challenging without all the pressures and hormones of being a teenager! But anyway it is done :o) yeyyy :o) Friday afternoon I met with my friend and gave her the mini album I had worked on for her to give as a birthday present. The next day I had a table at my daughters school fair and made around £20 which was good for the amount of people that came and it got my name out there which is the main thing. This time next month I shall be celebrating the end of college and throwing myself into crafting to make a living from it - I hope!!





Here;s the mini I made - excuse the mumbling and wierd voice - was tired and didn;t really know what I was doing :-/ oh well :o) lol

Also here's a birthday present I made back in January or February :o)

The recipient likes penguins so I printed out a gorgeous piccie to place inside the frame :o) baby Mumble looking up at his mummy and daddy :o) how cute!! Need to go upto HC this week and get some more letters to make some more for the cousins birthdays- some which I'm sure I've missed :-/ time flies too quickly I just can't keep up :o(

Speedy speedy speedy!!

Hiya peoples,
Well, Today was spent clearing hard drive on sky+ and crafting for the school fair... No pics yet but I shall take some once I've made a few more items. Made 2 notebooks, a door hanger and I've started on an altered large playing card... It's nearly finished.. Not too sure whether I like it or not, it doesn't look that good yet - I'm hoping it'll improve lol!!

Had a great night at my Tarot and Tea tonight and after answering someone's question on what I'll be doing the rest of the week (college and crafting for the fair) I was asked to bring some of my work in to next class :o) It'll be great to see what they think of them :o)

Great News :o)

Woo hoo!! I have great news to tell you guys!! Despite being busy with studying (or so I like to pretend to myself!!) I have booked a table at my daughter's school's upcoming school fair :o) The only downside is... I only have about a month to prepare!!! Yikes!!! So... Once I have the exam today I can sit down and get crafty and make lots and lots of goodies :o) I just hope I don't get crafters block!!! That so would not be good!

So... Today consists of college - I'm already here and killing time before my class at half 1. I've checked my mail so onto reading some blogs and catching up with you guys. Must admit I do not like their keyboard lol - Wentworth's so much easier to type on! This one is on it's way to becoming a typewriter!! Ok, so how many exclamation marks can I fit into one blog post?? I do apologise :oD

Sorry I've Been AWOL...

Hi guys, sorry I've not been around much, I would say it was because I've been studying a lot and also went about 10 days without Wentworth being here - but that kinda doesn't work as I've not been studying as much as I should be and I had access to the internet through Mike's computer so... I have no excuse really lol... :o)

But anyway, Wentworth is back and all healthy after his recent trip to the Dell helath spa. I didn;t half miss him, lol!! I did find myself reading more tho, I managed to finish Twlilight and I'm now onto Richard Hammond's autobio which is really interesting to read.

Craft wise: I'm getting closer to finishing the craft room :oD yey!! But still a lot to do to it. I've been a bust bumble today and have been making two gifts for the Youtube 100 subs giveaway. I think I drew the winners about 3 weeks ago but haven't had much chance until now to get them made - needless to say my fingers went purple with the shimmer spray lol!! I do hope they like their little packages... :o)

Speaking of packages, I wanna say a formal THANK YOU to Angela for her goodies :oD you're such a sweetheart babe :o) and her belated birthday card is amazing!! :o)

Ooh good news on my biology exam results - 2 'A*'s :o) yippeeeee!! I'm so proud of myself :oD just gotta study now for the next exam on Monday :-/ we did the practical this Monday and the questions will be regarding that and some general ones too... Scary!!! I'm at the stage where I can't wait to finish college so I can get stuck in deep with my crafting and get more makes up on my Folksy and maybe Etsy too..

Ooh went to a tarot and tea evening last Thursday (maybe Tuesday?) which I really enjoyed and am really looking forward to the next one :o) I've bought the Universal Waite deck so I can follow the teachings and readings better as the deck I bought about 14 years ago is a native american style so will be more difficult to follow... Until I'm fully confident with this deck first of course :o)

Anyway, just a quick catch up to say I'm still here :o) hopefully I'll be able to blog more frequently when I have less to think about lol!! I cannot wait lol :oD

Is Missing Wentworth!!!

Yes, my Wentworth baby is still not back :o( and to those "sane" people out there, lol, Wentworth is my laptop :o) he went to the Dell health spa about 10 days ago to make him feel all better as he was a bit under the weather and omg I miss him!! Using hubby's computer is sooo not fun - it's slow, not always available to use and it's stuck in one place!! I'm missing watching tubies (youtube videos) in bed lol.

Not been upto much craft wise as I'm still trying to sort the craft room out and have gotten a little closer to moving it into the bigger room :o) the metal bookcase thingy is now in it's new home :o) but still sooo much more to do!! Sigh, it'll get there eventually :o)

Ooh great news :o) I found where I can buy cinnamon flavoured sweets!!! :oD Yey!!

Long Time No Blog

Well, I've been awol for a bit... Bit of this bit of that got in the way. But I'm back and ready to show something which I've made :o) It's an 80th birthday card... Hope you like it... :o) I've also altered a wooden hanger for my Mum for mother's day but I'd forgotten to take pics lol, I'll have to do that the next time I'm down there...

New Folksy Makes :o) and zzzzzzzzzzz

Hiya :o) well today I haven't gotten much done as most of it was spent asleep in bed - my body just would not move. I had however made up for it the previous day when I got home from my exam - which was harder than the mocks :-/ and I made these two :o) I love the altered hot chocolate lid!! Thank you to Angie who sent me the lace, the cigarette card and the ribbon flower :o) I might just have to make you one on day too :o) I've put this one up on my Folksy but if it doesn't sell first time around then I shall keep it myself :-p hehe.

The second item I made was this post-it note holder - thank you again Angie for the brown ribbon which I tied on the book rings :o)

Woo hoo!! I can see the floor in the craft room now :oD yippeeeee!!! It's not near finished but at least I can get to my desk without needing mountaineering advice!! Things are slowly starting to take shape :o) I've still got loads of stuff to bring in from the old craft room - including the metal shelving unit and everything on the floor in front of it :-/ but one step at a time me thinks :o)

Ooh I bought a printer today so I can print off my pics for scrapping and also so I can print off digi stamps and background papers etc. Thank you Jan http://www.amethyststarotwisdom.blogspot.com/ she makes some gorgeous pieces of work using this type of source. The printer I got was just a cheap one. It's a Canon Pixma?? ip1900 I think. It was £25 from PC World online and it had free p&p - which I love!! It took ages for us to set up (well, I say us but I really mean Mike!!) and even longer to print out a decent image! In the end we realised that Windows didn't really like to print the images and we were getting really light pics coming through with no intensity... So... We tried using the software that came with it to print it off and BINGO!! Problem solved :o) The paper used won;t go to waste of course as I'll be using it to work on so I don't make my desk messy :o) I don;t have a proper craft mat and I like to use paper underneath when I'm colouring or stamping so I can test the colours out on the paper first :o)

Ok, I suppose I should go and tidy up some more... A few more tubies first tho perhaps :-p
